RJIOK Tulsa Community Connection Circle
HOSTED BY: Restorative Justice Institute of Oklahoma
DATE: Tuesday, July 16, 2024
TIME: 5:30pm – 7:15pm
ADDRESS: Rudisill Regional Library, 1520 N Hartford Ave, Tulsa, OK 74106, USA
INFO:
“Without community, there is no liberation...but community must not mean a shedding of our differences, nor the pathetic pretense that these differences do not exist.” -- A. Lorde
At RJIOK, Circles are at the center of everything we do. This is an opportunity to learn about and experience the tools that we believe will transform communities. It is an opportunity to explore your values and learn about how others connect to their values in a container that honors everyone. In these circles we learn to: listen and discern what is happening in our internal system, speak authentically from first person without distancing from our feelings, speak for and not from our parts, listen to others without a need to respond, sit in and honor silence, slow our pace, be without our technology and be present with others. Circles both connect us to the humanity of our community and create an opportunity to learn about and respect difference. Come experience what radically inclusive space feels like.
